Headspace App + Design
New obsession: Headspace. Its free for 10 minutes and gives you not only guided meditation, but beautifully designed graphics and animation to boot. Check it out.
Obviously we are going to talk about the web design, UI/UX design, character design and gorgeous vector based animations, but the science of mediation is quite interesting as well. I am pretty impressed with the ability to integrate short and well executed animations into a completely different context. Do you see this happening more and more? We live in a visually fast world – animation has always been a big part of that, but its getting bigger. Instead of sitting down to watch a feature length film, we could potentially see hundreds of 1-5 min. animations per day. Thoughts?

New Ways of Seeing
Have you ever read the famous art criticism by John Berger, “Ways of Seeing”? Printed in 1972 yet still relevant. If not.. add it to your library stack. .. But also check out this beautifully designed and interactive website for “New Ways of Seeing”. Some interesting videos and ideas… as well as clever and contemporary website design.
Good question: “What does art mean in the age of social media?” … Thoughts?
