Personally.. I love isolation. As a classic introvert (which might not be obvious in class!), I need a lot of alone time.. and if I cant get that, at least recharging time. I could spend all day at home and in my studio entertaining myself and making things – food, art, home projects, gardening, reading, just staring out the window. For many of artists, this is true.. How are you feeling? I am finding the slowdown from my usual activities of running around teaching 6 classes, soccer practice for my kids, etc a nice breather. I stumbled upon this article and it really spoke to me. Take a look and discover new artists – Ruth Asawa is one of my personal favorites.
Need some balance?
Andy Goldsworthy is one of my favorite land installation artists. Can you make your own land / earth art in your backyard?? Check him out here: , Andy Goldsworthy

Subpar Parks Project
Hey students! Most of you know that I’m a huge outdoors person, I love parks, the beach and hiking and camping. I’m still able to get a few runs in a week, but most of these other activities aren’t possible right now. I stumbled upon Amber Share Design and really loved the concept and execution of these posters. So witty. So sharp! What do you think? What would your poster design look like if you based it on the comments made in the guidebook? Or yelp review restaurant critics? Cool idea..
The Art Assignment

This is a great resource if you’re looking for short “assignments” to keep your creativity flowing. The Art Assignment has short videos as well as assignments from successful artists – a personal aside, the painter Donald Odita was one of my college professors! Check it out here.
