Draw-A-Thon = success!

Thank you for participating in our 2nd annual Draw – A – Thon! We had over 150 students in the gallery drawing, creating and having the space to let your mind wander during the stressful first two weeks of the fall semester. I’m thrilled with the results! Winners will get a mini-exhibit and will be displayed on the purple wall next to “Faculty Offices” door in the hallway on the first floor of the HU Bldg.

And the winners are…. (find me for your prizes!)

Best Technical Drawing: Sofiia Toropova

Most Creative : Syd Bass

Gallery Choice: Gianine Velez

Most Expressive: Rachel Felix Saavedre

To everyone who participated: Please pick up your drawings from Josiah or Fiona in the HU Office/Gallery between today and 9/17!

How do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration in so many ways… a successful run while listening to music, floating in the ocean, taking a hike with my kids, traveling, looking at art in museums/galleries and online, working in my studio and even sometimes, in a really great cup of coffee.

Above photos include my summer study abroad trip to London and Paris. Art highlights were: the V and A Museum, a solo exhibit by one of my favorite artists Do Huh Suh, the obvious Lourve Museum and even simple color and texture on new architecture.
