Headspace App + Design

New obsession: Headspace. Its free for 10 minutes and gives you not only guided meditation, but beautifully designed graphics and animation to boot. Check it out.

Obviously we are going to talk about the web design, UI/UX design, character design and gorgeous vector based animations, but the science of mediation is quite interesting as well. I am pretty impressed with the ability to integrate short and well executed animations into a completely different context. Do you see this happening more and more? We live in a visually fast world – animation has always been a big part of that, but its getting bigger. Instead of sitting down to watch a feature length film, we could potentially see hundreds of 1-5 min. animations per day. Thoughts?

375,000 Public Domain images

Earlier this week, the Metropolitan Museum of Art announced that more than 375,000 images found in the museum’s online collection are now available for free and unrestricted use. The high-resolution images are licensed under Creative Commons, the non-profit organization that facilities the public use of some 1.1 billion digital works.
